Phoebe West has been head-over-heels in love with her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember.
Not that he’s bothered to notice.
Despite several mortifying attempts at seduction and a decade’s worth of unrequited pining, nothing Phoebe does seems to make any impact on the man she’s obsessed over since her bra-stuffing days. She knows it’s time to let him go, though just the thought is nearly enough to shatter her…
Nathaniel “Nate” Knox has only ever seen Phoebe as one thing forbidden.
There’s a darkness in Nate, the kind you can’t avoid after years working in special forces and private security. He’s no good for anyone — especially not someone as sweet as his best friend’s little sister. He knows he can’t have her. Not ever. Even if she makes him feel things he barely recognizes...
Some lines aren’t meant to be crossed.
When an unforeseeable series of events sends Phoebe stumbling headfirst into danger, there’s only one man who can protect her. Though, in his quest to save her life, he may just break her heart...
CROSS THE LINE is a full-length contemporary romance about a woman who can’t seem to walk away… and the man who’ll go to any length to keep her safe. Due to sparks flying, suspenseful moments, steamy scenes, and one sassy heroine, it is recommended to readers ages 17 and up.

Cross the Line left me in a serious book hangover. I didn’t even want to finish this book, because I didn’t want it to end. I dragged out reading it, just so I could savor the awesome story line. I knew I was going to be dying to read another one of her books and have to WAIT for the next one to be written! Hence, the book hangover has set in.The heroine, Pheobe, is relatable and sucks you into the plot with her humor, and witty banter. After meeting Nate in the prologue, all you want is to keep reading about the sexy, brooding, super macho guy. The quotes at the top of each chapter made me literally laugh out loud several times. They were interesting and gave even more of an insight to the characters than just the plot line alone. I felt like a Boston native, and wanted to walk through the streets of Boston with Pheobe. Boo was the funniest part of the book, bringing comedy to every scene he was involved. Anyone with a dog knows that dogs have the biggest personalities. Boo was no exception.
As an avid Julie Johnson fan, I love the crossover between all the books she has written. I love reading her newest book and coming across some of my favorite characters from other books she has written already.
Yet again, Julie Johnson writes a tremendous story filled with adventure, comedy, and romance. The stories always feel real, possible, and make you want to be the heroine of this story! I’m truly blown away with the amount of creativity and success her books bring the bookworm world. Ms. Johnson is a master crafter of beautiful and funny love stories.

“…my stupid, stubborn heart refused to relinquish hope that someday, my soulmate would wake up and smell the freaking pheromones.”
Phoebe is a ridiculously funny and smart woman who is in love with her brother’s hot best friend, Nate, since they were young teens. “Bro code” states that a “Bro” cannot date another “Bro’s” sister… Phoebe has made every effort to seduce and try to get Nate to notice her. Fail. Ten years later, she has convinced herself to “move on” and “hate” Nate…but can she really move on? Now Phoebe needs Nate more than ever when suddenly her life is in danger.
Oh. My. I LOVED this story! Where do I even start!?
Phoebe is so refreshing and such well-rounded character. I loved all her interactions with her friends and family. She is very smart, witty and has no filter. She has been in love with Nate since they were young teens and has tried everything to get him to notice her. Hot clothes, hot shoes….hot situations. Nothing appears to work. Nate is a handsome and protective man who seems to not notice Phoebe… Nate is dark and mysterious. We don’t really know what he is feeling or thinking, the readers are kept in the dark like Phoebe which aids in connecting and feeling for her. The plot of this story is fast paced, captivating and believable. (I read it in one day!)
This was an absolutely fun and thrilling read. Not only is there a love story but this book hold so much more…there is a plot with twists and turns that will keep you from putting the book down!
I have to say I was excited to read this 2nd book in Julie Johnson's Boston Love Story series. I really enjoyed reading the first book "Not You It's Me". This is basically a story about Phoebe, a rich heiress that has been in love with her brother's best friend Nate since she was a kid. Unfortunately for her he never acknowledged her existence and then joined the military and wasn't seen or heard from for 10 years. All the while Phoebe is in love with him and has this obsession with him and can't think of anyone else. I felt it made the story unbelievable that someone that was never paid attention too by the H could be in love with them for over 10 years to the point where she never had a relationship with anyone because she so in love with Nate and was hoping he would show some interest in her. When they finally do end up back in each other's lives, the story was a little slow getting anywhere. However, it was a good book and I like the characters. Phoebe and her friend Lila have some funny lines when Phoebe isn't constantly pining over Nate, which gets kinda old after a while, and Boo the dog was pretty funny. Chase and Gemma from "Not You It's Me" have decent parts in this book so I would advise reading that book first even though this can be read as a stand alone. Once you make it about half way, the story picks up more between Phoebe and Nate and it starts flowing faster. I would still recommend it to anyone that likes JJ other books. I'm excited to read about her brother Parker's story next and am curious if "Tinkerbell" is Zoe. If so I can't wait, because just the small part she had in this book I can tell I'm gonna like her smart mouth and strong character in the next.
