This is book 4 of the kids series. This book was beyond amazing! I had to force myself to put it down. This is Riley and Matt's story. It was love at first sight for Matt when he met Riley at the water tower many years ago. The feeling was mutual for RIley HOWEVER Riley pushed her feelings away because of her past experiences and how are father (Cy) scared off all her potential boyfriends. Riley also even though she did not realize it was pushing men away because of a tramatic experience she went through. Matt is the first man who has stood up to Cy. Gemma, Riley's mom tries to keep him controlled but she is fighting a loosing battle because Riley is is baby girl and he also pulled her out of her tramatic event and refuses to let ANYONE hurt her again. This book is full of all the kids as well as their parents. Everytime I read another one in the series I really wish Keenston was a place I could go to becaue I have no trouble imagining Main Street! I laughed, cried and took deep breaths several times while reading. I actually stopped reading at one point to email the author about a particular scene as I was laughing so hard I was crying and couldn't breathe! I cannot say enough good about this book. The only downside was a figured out who the "badguy" was before the end but that had no baring on me still loving this book. You will not be disappointed that is for sure. Now bring on Sophie and Nash

Another wonderful romance and HEA for another of the Keeneston kids. Loved Riley and Matt's story. Matt's character was wounded by his DEA past but he is able to get over his past with his love for Riley. Riley and her family kept me laughing and loving them for their love and devotion to family. The Keeneston town folk continue to be funny and supportive. Some new characters are introduced to Keeneston, Aniayh and Drew. As usual, there are great scenes where you will be rolling in the floor laughing. The story moves along well and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars (for the 1st time) was because I was able to predict who the bad guy was early on easily and found the bad guy actions to be predictable. I still enjoyed the story. Kathleen Brooks is a good writer and anyone who picks up her books will enjoy all the series. I look forward to more books. I'm afraid I am a fan for life!
I wasn't sure politics could be either romantic, funny or suspenseful, but Forever Driven hit high notes on all counts. Matt Walz, always the nice guy local Trooper in several of the "Forever" series of the Bluegrass books, develops here into a deep, nuanced and somewhat angst-filled good bad-boy. Riley, one of Cy's and Gemma's twin daughters, shows she has inherited both her mother's crusading sense of responsibility and her father's touuhhghness and daring. Though "willing suspension of disbelief" is always a requirement with regard to Ms. Brooks's timelines (almost every book in the entire Bluegrass series takes place in the present in which it was actually written, without a blink that twenty or thirty years must have passed to have twenty-eight year old children of parents who were themselves only thirtieth in 2010 or thereabouts), it simply adds to the almost magical aura of Keeneston. I would move there in a minute!

Only Kathleen Brooks can spin a tale that makes a reader actually wish the place existed and the characters are your friends. With true southern charm, you will laugh, cry and swoon while danger lurks in the shadows. With a group of nosy gossips that easily will give the shirts off of their back to help, it is no wonder why people really wish this little two-stoplight town existed. Of course, it never hurts to visit the book boyfriends of the past while their offspring find love in the chaos.

It is a rare gem to find an author that not only meets the bar every book published in the series, but manages to exceed it and Kathleen Brooks is that author. Doesn't matter if it is her bluegrass series or the women of power series..... you are in for a treat! 5+++++++++++ stars
I just finished “Forever Driven” by Kathleen Brooks and it’s a great addition to the Forever Bluegrass series. I love going back and visiting with all the folks in Keeneston. This book focused on Riley Davies and her fight to save her farm and the town. To do that she ran for, and won, a seat in the state House of Representatives. Kentucky State Trooper Matt Walz, who has had a thing for Riley for a while, returns to Keeneston after a long and brutal undercover operation. Finding Riley in danger, Matt steps in to protect her. Along the way, they realize their feelings for each other run deep and strong. As is the case in all of her Bluegrass books, there are some laugh-out-loud moments (like the antics of the Davies dads directed at their daughters, or more precisely, the men who try to date them). But Ms. Brooks doesn’t shy away from some difficult subjects. As she has in her last couple of books, she faces a tough topic head on. It might be uncomfortable, but it is real. My only quibble with the book was that I figured out mid-way through who the villain was. While it didn’t detract from the story, it also didn’t give me that “wow, I didn’t see that coming” feeling I like in a romantic suspense novel. Hence the four, not five stars. That said, Ms. Brooks has created a town you wish was real, families you love getting to know, and happy endings you want for the heroes and heroines of her books. I look forward to the next book in this series and with the large number of children of the original Bluegrass/Bluegrass Brothers series, there will be many more visits in the future.
