Lord Brocktree A Tale from Redwall Brian Jacques Books

I loved this story and all the Redwall series. I've told all my friends with young teens that these are the best stories I've come across in a long time. They are filled with heroic endurance and courage in the face of your own shortcomings and fears. It has everything you could want: food, feasts, battles, long arduous journeys, friendship and more food. There is plenty of laughing and some crying and all without the use of magic. It is sometimes a tale of good against evil but mostly finding your own voice and your own place in a larger world. Sure, the story is about badgers, squirrels, otters, mice, rats, ferrets, and foxes, but it is so much more than that. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Lord Brocktree A Tale from Redwall Brian Jacques Books Reviews

My son is 12 and when he went looking for a new series to read, we picked up the first few books in this series. He was immediately hooked!! He went through them so fast and is now awaiting the new one in this series. The only thing we had to be careful of, was the publisher as my son keeps his books and wanted them all the same size. Some other publishers make the books larger. It's nice to see great stories for young boys. Thank you
Yes, the Redwall books are formulaic--a genre unto themselves--but there are so many delightful variations on the theme! I loved visiting the Salmandastron of the legendary Badger Lord who created the Long Patrol and fathered Martin the Warrior's badger helper Boar. Dotti, the haremaid co-protagonist of the tale is yet another of Jacques' irrepressible and unabashed female heroines.
This is the thirteenth book in the redwall series. It is another great book in the redwall series. The story focuses on Lord Brocktree, a badger lord, who is on his journey to rule the mountain stronghold of Salamandastron. Along his way he mets Dotti the young haremaid and Ruff the otter. He also mets several other creatures whom he has adventures with. Meanwhile, at Salamandastron, Lord Stonepaw,Lord Brocktree's father, has to defend the mountain from the evil wildcat named Ungatt Trunn and his evil Blue Hordes. He is a ruthless killer who wants to conquer Salamandastron for himself and his hordes. The last battle in this book is absolutely spectacular. This is easily one of my favorite redwall books. All of the books that are in the redwall series are great. Brian Jacques is one of the best storytellers and this book shows his skill. I recommend this book to anyone ,if your a redwall fan or not, and this is a must have book that everyone should own.
My son has read many of the Redwall books and loved this book. If your child is interested in them I would recommend doing a search to find a chronological listing of the novels as they were published randomly by the author. I think Wikipedia has an excellent chronological listing.
The Redwall series of books is well written and perfect for both young and young-at-heart readers. It’s a fantasy set full of adventures of good versus evil, coming of age, finding bravery and friendship, reveling in poetry and song, and feasting as if at the end of a ten season famine! Brian Jacques crafted wonderful friends and heroes ate Redwall Abbey, and you’ll enjoy meeting them again and again!
I read this book when I was far younger and now that I am 28 years old i decided to give it a go and try it again. All I have to say is that this book is completely awesome! The story is very compelling and it makes you want to never put the book down. Brian Jacques does a great job making this animals come to life and really giving them a great sense of detail and realism. I don't want to give away anything about the book but basically the author uses only animals as the main characters but honestly after you start reading it you forget they are animals all together and you start seeing them as not only characters that you can relate too but someone you would feel comfortable sitting down and having tea with! Seriously though this book is amazing and as are all the RedWall books!
The Redwall Series is probably my favorite middle-grade series ever written. It was what first ignited my love of reading, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. Though the stories follow the same basic formula, the characters are endearing and the writing is beautifully descriptive. This is a definite must-read for anyone who loves lighthearted, middle-grade fantasy.
