Ooh, I struggled during the first 1/3 of the book, mainly due to the fact that half the college patrons were just horrible, truly bitchy and nasty with it. Once I got into the story and understood the do's and the don'ts, the how's and the why's, etc etc, I felt a little more tolerance to The Elect (not to their blind followers though). Coming from a cow farm in a Wyoming, Tracey lived a sheltered life with her grandparents, she is naive when it comes to the running of and hierarchy of Eagle Elite. Not one to back down though, she does quite a good job of standing up for herself. Unfortunately she makes a number of enemies along the way. It soon becomes apparent she is not who she seems, Tracey though is unaware of her family background and for most of the book remains oblivious to the things going on around her. I loved the story and the writing and in the whole Chase or Nixon debate, I stand firmly in Nixon's court. Let's see if the next book will alter my opinion.

Enchant Eagle Elite 05 edition by Rachel Van Dyken Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Read this boom several tomes and realized I never left a review. Love everything about these mafia men and their families. To read the history of Joyce, Frank and Luca - my heart breaks all over again for them. Enjoy these chapters but don’t stop there - there is so much more to learn!!!!
"Enchant" is the precursor to the "Eagle Elite" series. Frank was given a task and swore on his father's deathbed to fulfill it. He set everyone up like dominoes and played poor Luca and Joyce like a set of base fiddles! He in no way resembled grandfatherly Frank from the first novel!
For those of you that want to know more of the love between Joyce and Luca, then grab this novella. You will see how Luca and Joyce's love effected her marriage to Frank and what Frank did knowing that his wife was in love with his brother. Sometimes LOVE makes us do crazy things... It always allows us to look the other way sometimes. This is a great novella to show us a different side of Frank that we never see. Could he have a heart after all???
This was a super short read, but I thought it packed quite an emotional punch. I thought that the author did a nice job of developing the storyline and the reader’s investment in the characters in the very limited pages of this novella. I only just discovered this series and I’m thinking of diving in so I decided to check out this novella first to see what I thought. It definitely has me intrigued and I am curious to read more to see what’s going to happen. This little story was heartbreaking, full of danger, betrayal and I thought it really helped set the stage for what’s to come. I will definitely be checking out the other books in this series!
Frank sets his brother Luca and Joyce up as pawns in a game that the mafia has set the rules for. In order to get Luca to do as his father wished for him to get done on his deathbed, Frank sets about ruining both Luca and Joyce's love for each other. It was pretty tough to see how ruthless Frank was and how Joyce was able to finally get past it over the years. Frank got his wish and it worked out the way he hoped but it came at a high cost for all involved. After Nixon discovers Joyce's final letter to Tracey that describes what happened between the Frank, Luca and herself, he tries to see if it can help him and Tracey get the future they are hoping for. It was a short and well done read and set up the first book pretty well.
Wow. It's horrible what Frank did to Luca, but he made a promise that he had to fulfill to his father. Even though Frank was a hard one, in the end he realized Luca would always be second best. It's hard to swallow but Frank felt he had to do it for Luca to be the man he knew he was. Such a loving soul Luca and to be betrayed like he was and for Joyce not knowing the truth til later WOW. Blood is thicker than water In Italians, especially doing things like Frank had to do. I'm sure you will love this Series it's the best the Author is an amazing person. Grab yourself a copy
This is a short novella packed with information you will need to fully understand the background to this series. Do not make the same mistake I made... I read this first before the first book. It won't ruin the story for you, but to get the full impact of the twists and turns contained in the first book, I wish I had not read this first.

This is a complex story overall, and now with this additional piece of the puzzle, it makes it even more interesting.

I find it very compelling that people are manipulated without their realizing into shaping their lives in a particular way. The manipulator has to be a master puppeteer in order to affect people's lives. These are smart and brutal characters who are being driven to shape their lives and make decisions that only one person controls, without realizing what has been done to them. Out of these decisions, feuds evolve that will affect generations to come.
